We’ll Be There Every Step of the Way

The NAACP of the Sandusky community includes members, supporters, and allies who share the organization’s vision of a society where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect regardless of their race, color, creed, or national origin. Our organization has partnerships with other organizations and groups that share its commitment to social justice and equality.

1

Voting Rights & Political Representation

The NAACP played a crucial role in the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which prohibited racial discrimination in voting and has been instrumental in protecting the rights of minority voters for over five decades.

2

Expanding Youth & Young Adult Engagement

This is a priority for the NAACP and its community. The organization recognizes that young people are the future of the movement for social justice and that their voices and perspectives are essential to achieving lasting change.

3

Public Safety & Criminal Justice

The NAACP advocates for policies that promote accountability and transparency within law enforcement agencies, such as the use of body cameras and independent oversight boards. The NAACP also supports efforts to end racial profiling and reduce the use of excessive force by police officers.

4

High-Quality, Public Education

High-quality, public education is a key priority for the NAACP and its community. The organization recognizes that education is a fundamental right that is critical to promoting equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.
